Private Basketball Training in Kelowna

One-on-one and small-group sessions with Junior Coyotes coaches, for players in Grades 1 to 12 who want focused reps between practices.

What private training is

League practice moves at the pace of the group. A private session moves at the pace of your player. Whether you are searching for a private basketball coach near me, basketball trainers near me, or simply more reps than a weekly practice allows, this is the same thing under different names: focused time on the specific part of the game your child is stuck on.

Sessions are run by coaches who already coach in the Junior Coyotes leagues, so training connects directly to the game your player is actually playing on the weekend.

What a session covers

Shooting

Form and range

Footwork, base, release and the repetition it takes to make a change hold up under game speed.

Handles

Ball handling

Both hands, tight space, change of pace and direction, and finishing through contact.

IQ

Decision making

Reading the defender, when to pass, when to attack. The part most kids never get taught directly.

Confidence

Game readiness

For players who can do it in the driveway but freeze in a game. Often the real problem.

Who it is for

  • Players who want more than one practice a week. Private basketball lessons fill the gap between league days.
  • Players preparing for tryouts. Club and school tryouts reward a small number of visible skills. Sessions target those.
  • Newer players. A personal basketball trainer means no waiting for a turn and no keeping up with a group.
  • Small groups. Two or three friends or siblings can share a session, which is usually the better value.

Common questions

What age can a player start private training?

Grade 1 and up. Younger players get more out of a group setting like Micro Ballers, where the focus is fun first, so we usually point families there instead.

How is this different from your leagues and camps?

Leagues and camps are group programs on a set schedule. Private basketball training is one player, or a small group, working on a specific thing. Most families use it alongside a league rather than instead of one.

Do we need to be registered in a Junior Coyotes program?

No. Private sessions are open to any player in the Kelowna area, whether or not they play in our leagues.

Can two or three players share a session?

Yes, and it is usually the better value. Small groups also keep the competitive element that most players respond to.

How many sessions does it take to see a change?

Honest answer: a single session fixes nothing on its own. A mechanical change like a shot takes weeks of repetition. We will tell you what is realistic for what you are asking.
