Club Basketball Teams in Kelowna
Junior Coyotes club teams are the competitive side of the club. Where our 3v3 and 5v5 leagues are open to everyone, club is a tryout team that trains together all season and travels to tournaments across British Columbia and Alberta.
Who plays club
Fall Club 2026 runs four teams, boys and girls:
- Boys: Grade 7-8 and Grade 9-10.
- Girls: a separate team for Grade 7 and for Grade 8.
Keeping each team to a narrow grade band means players train with others at their own stage instead of everyone competing for a handful of spots on one roster.
How tryouts work
Club teams are selected by tryout, held before the season starts. Players are evaluated over multiple sessions rather than a single night, so nobody is judged on one bad evening. Every player who tries out is told the outcome directly. Tryout dates are announced here and by email to families on our list.
The first fall tryout is Friday August 28 from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Kelowna Christian School, for Grade 7/8 Boys and Grade 9/10 Boys together. Tryouts cost $25, which covers that Friday plus an additional tryout during the week of August 31 to September 4, and does not include the club season. Register for Fall Club tryouts.
What the fee covers
Club fees are collected as one all-inclusive cost rather than a base fee with extras added later. It covers team operations and tournament travel for the season. Fees can be paid by e-transfer to andrew@juniorcoyotes.com. Current fees for each team are listed further down this page.
Club or league, which is right
If your child is new to basketball, or plays two or three other sports, our 3v3 and 5v5 leagues are the better fit. They are open to everyone, run on a fixed weekly schedule, and cost a fraction of a club season. Club suits players who already train regularly, want a full season with one team, and are willing to travel to tournaments.
