Frequently asked questions

When does fall basketball registration open in Kelowna?

Coyotes fall registration opens in the summer and is open right now for the 2026 season. Leagues start September 12 and 13, and divisions close when they fill, so popular grades can sell out before the season starts.

What ages and grades can play?

Everyone from preschool to Grade 12. Mini and Micro Ballers covers our youngest players, 3 on 3 and 5v5 leagues cover Grades 1 to 9, High School 5v5 covers Grades 10 to 12, and club teams run for Grades 7 to 10.

My child has never played. Where should they start?

Preschool and Kindergarten players start in Mini and Micro Ballers. For Grades 1 to 9 the 3 on 3 league is the best first season, because every session is half skill development and half games. Players with experience usually pick the 250 League 5v5 or the bundle.

What is included in a league registration?

Every league includes a reversible jersey or team shirt, Media Day photos, live standings with player stats and graphics through the season, experienced coaches, and a free season pass to Okanagan College basketball home games. Fall registrations also include the PGC Stages at home training program, a $39 USD per month value, activated by signing up as a player on PGC. The 5v5 league also includes referees for all 8 game days and a player evaluation on September 11. There are no extra charges on top of the registration fee.

Are there girls only options?

Yes. The 3 on 3 league runs all girls Grade 3–4 and Grade 5–6 divisions on Saturdays at St. Joseph's, Girls Fall Club runs a team per grade for Grades 7 to 9, and the August Fall Tip-Off has a full girls edition with a free 2 day camp for Grades 1 to 6.
